President’s report:
Per the contract the employee and the employer cannot agree to change their hours “Up to two hours before and after the end of their shift” less than 14 days. If the schedule is changed under 14 days this would be overtime. This also applies to ADO’s under 14 days.
Unit 8 staff have to use vacation when calling in sick on a holiday. Even if this is FMLA you still have to use vacation.
Our local will be sending one to two staff to work on lost time this year at the capital for the legislative session. If your interested contact Eric Langworthy.
We will be posting Negotiations updates on the local web site and the union boards. The delegates are Amy Langworthy, Bill Stanley, Trevor Brewer, Patty Couch, Will Spencer, and Nate Steinle
We will be having a tour of our new legislative reps after the first of the year.
Motion was passed to pay the negotiation delegates the federal rate of mileage for all meetings in this session of negotiations.
Motion was made and will be voted on at the 1st meeting next month to “have our Trustees, and Treasurer attend the Financial Responsibility training as soon as possible. Registration, mileage and the per-Diem of $100.00 would be paid if the motion passes.
Discussion to have the Cpt. Remind LT’s not to hold officers on shift when early outs can be granted. Some supervisors have been holding staff and not granting early outs. This affects the use of vacation.
Effective ASAP all payments will come from the council. The local cannot pay staff directly from the local’s account because taxes are not with held.
Discussion on weather we should be paying negotiation delegates lost wages or the per-diem rate if they attend a meeting on their regularly scheduled day off. Staff shall not be paid if they do not attend the meetings. Eric will follow up on this issue.
On any trade that a staff works they can be subject to being forced. There was some confusion with a recent incident and the wrong choice was made. The grievant does not want to file a grievance and we have passed the 21-day limit.
Good and welfare. A card will be placed at the front desk for officer Mollet and McIntyre.
