Our union brothers and sisters in Legislative District 8B need your help!!  Judy Soderstrom is in her second term as the representative from 8B and she has a ZERO AFL-CIO voting record.

She told AFSCME DOT members that she does not like unions, particularly Public Employee unions.

Her husband runs a contracting/construction business (in addition to their real estate business in Mora) and she gloated about his use of non union labor.

During a screening with AFSCME members last fall, she told the group (of which several were state Correctional Officers) that she was impressed by her visit to the private prison in Appleton and would happily support privatization of all state prisons and other public facilities.

She told a group of maintenance workers from SEIU that no one should be paid $9.00 an hour to "push a broom."

In a town meeting, she lied about the wages and benefits received by state correctional officers.  Luckily, some officers from Rush City DOC were present to set the group straight.

This woman has got to go!  She barely beat incumbent Loren Jennings when the district was changed in 2002.  She only got 76 more votes than the AFSCME endorsed candidate, Tim Faust, in 2004.  We can take back this seat but we need help!!

Please ask your members to commit to work one of the door knocks we are doing in June.  The schedule is attached.  Please get me your lists of volunteers with name, phone and e mail ASAP.

THANKS!!!
